I’m so happy for all of you.
I really, really am. Honestly, I wish that I could have walked with you. Unfortunately, things got in the way of that, but I’m not going to dwell on my own issues.
Castiel, that speech was absolutely amazing, and…I’m extremely proud to call you my friend.
Wishing the best to all of the seniors.

Prom | Gwen and Lane
Gwen smoothed out her skirt for what felt like the millionth time and sighed. Dresses weren’t exactly her favorite attire, but she was kind of into the dress she’d made for herself for the occasion. It was some old vintage number she’d found at a thrift shop in the French Quarter, and she’d taken it apart and put it back together again with a modern twist. It had turned out pretty well, even if dresses weren’t her usual attire, and formal events weren’t her usual scene. At least the location of this one was pretty comfortable.
She looked around at the others and took another sip of her drink, smiling. She wasn’t one for dancing, but it was nice, all the same. The rum burned on the way down, and the night was hot, with a cool breeze rustling slightly, just enough to keep them from sweating. It felt like high school was supposed to feel, Gwen figured.
Lane was happy to be back. She never thought that she would grow attached to this place - not here, not anywhere, really. This was never supposed to be permanent, but the month or so she’d spent away from Lawrence had left a lingering feeling of absence somewhere inside of her. So, of course, she had made it her goal to visit in time for their graduation. Theirs, not hers. It took a bit for her to come to that realization, even though graduation wasn’t exactly a common thought for her. It was surprising how she’d seemed to settle into the routine.
She’d been staying at her old home for the past week, and had happily accepted Jo’s invitation to the group’s antiprom. Not that she’d ever been to a normal prom, but that was beside the point. She dressed herself in a short, flowy, off-white dress and let her hair hang loose. It was probably too casual for a prom look, but overly formal attire was something she knew all too well - and as such, often grated her nerves.
She took a sip of her drink and winced, having never really been offered hard liquor before. Setting it down, she caught a glance of someone out of the corner of her eye, and walked over. “Hey, Gwen,” she greeted, smiling. “It’s nice to see you again. You look…great.”

Awesome! You can wear whatever you want :) A couple of us are getting dressed up, but I know Ash is going in t-shirt and jeans. It should be fun! I just heard back from Gwen and she’s definitely gonna be able to make it.
Sounds great, then. I think I’ll pull out something nice, considering it’s the first time I’ve seen all of you together in quite a while.

Hey Lane, thanks for your number! Okay, so a bunch of us are throwing a surprise anti-prom this Friday for Dean and Cas. It’d be great if you could come! I’m hoping Dean’s cousin Gwen is gonna be here for it too :)
Oh, so that’s what this is all about. Anti-prom? I mean, I’ve never been to an actual prom, but does this mean I have to get all dressed up? I’ll be there, either way.
It has been…a long, long time.
Yeah…yeah, I hear ya. Still, think I better make a little more money down here. I’d feel like shit if I wasn’t bringing something to the table. But you know, I’d…I’d like to visit. I mean, if you ever wanted company.
Huh. I wonder what’s going on?
I always want your company. Don’t doubt that, Gwen. But if that’s what you want to do, all the more power to you.

It’s Mother’s Day.
…What to say about a woman who has as much of an emotional attachment to you as the local mailman? It’s not like I’ll be seeing her for a while, so…I don’t know.
It has been…a long, long time.
Yeah, that’s some house you’ve got up in Kansas, that’s for sure.
Not sure I could swing actually living up in New York but I think it would be kinda amazing to just go up there, see what there is to see, maybe hang out, you know?
Hey, do you know what’s going on Friday night? I should be getting into town then, and Jo said there was something going on. Think I might see you there?
I see your point, I guess I just didn’t figure why you’d want to relocate halfway across the country every time you wanted to visit, y’know?
And nope, I’m just as clueless as you are about this.
